Corrosion has become an important focus of attention due to the risks that this entails in the industry. With the purpose of finding improvements that lead to the reduction of the material damages and the human risks that corrosion involves, the scientific efforts made to study the different phenomena by which it occurs are greater every year. Currently there are effective forms of control; however, human errors and engineering malpractices can lead to the propagation of corrosion and the collapse of a whole process system. There is the importance of having basic knowledge about these phenomena, their causes and their possible controls.
