General classification of petroleum products

Petroleum products are classified according to their closed cup flash point as below:

Class A : liquid which have flash point below 23c

Class B : liquid which have flash point of 23c and above but below 65c

Class C : liquid whic have flash point of 93c and above

Liqufied gases including LPG do not fall under this classification but form separate category

Types of tanks:

1. Fixed Roof Tanks
2. Floating Roof Tanks
3. Fixed cum floating Roof Tanks
