Basics of Boiler and HRSG Design
The idea for this project came from multiple colleagues who asked me whether there was a book on the market that described the fundamentals of designing a fossil-fired steam generator. I could think of two good but lengthy books, Babcock and Wilcox's Steam and Combustion Engineering's (now Alstom Power) Combustion, but it looked that there was a demand for a simplified version of this content.

This book was also "inspired" in part by changes in the utility business, as well as other industries—the "do more with less" mentality. Plants are now run by employees who must wear multiple hats and may lack considerable expertise in the areas for which they are responsible. As a result, the book provides as an introduction to fundamental boiler design that the operator, management, or engineer can utilise to better understand his or her plant. It also serves as a starting point for those who want to go deeper into the subject.
