Static Equipment Awareness Program
The majority of mechanical equipment found in oil and gas facilities is classified as static equipment, which includes pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, fired heaters, pig launchers, and so on. Images of a few of these static or stationery equipments will be supplied in this post primarily to envision the design guys who have not yet seen the actual working site or construction site.
Pressure Vessels, Horizontal and Vertical: A pressure vessel is a container designed to keep fluids, such as gases or liquids, at a pressure that is significantly different (higher or lower) than the surrounding atmosphere. Pressure vessels are designed in accordance with ASME BPVC codes.

Columns are large vertical pressure vessels. Internals such as trays, packaging, distributors, demisters, and so on are available for separation and other purposes.
Storage in the Ground/Mounds Bullets are enormous, high-pressure storage containers. Typically used to store LPG / LNG. Buried / Mounded as a precaution against an accident.
Large Atmospheric Pressure Storage Tanks: Atmospheric pressure storage device. The tank roof design will be fixed or floating, depending on the fluid held.
Storage Spherical tanks: Spheres are extremely huge, high-pressure storage containers. Typically used for storing large amounts of LPG, LNG, or NGL.
Shell and tube heat exchangers are the most prevalent type of heat exchanger. High-pressure, high-duty applications.
Air Cooled Heat Exchangers: Also known as dry type cooling towers, these heat exchangers employ air as a cooling medium.
Plate Heat Exchangers: A compact type of heat exchanger that is used for medium pressure, high duty applications. It is possible to deal with very low approach temperatures.
Fired Heaters: A fired heater is made up of a furnace in which the flame impinges directly on the tubes or surfaces containing the fluid to be heated, which can be process fluid, thermic fluids, air, water, or a combination of these.
The furnace is also known as the radiant zone because the majority of heat transfer occurs through radiation, followed by the convection zone, where heat transfer occurs primarily through convection.
PIG Launchers / Receivers: A pig launcher is a device that employs a pressurised container to fire a cleaning device ("pig") into a pipeline to accomplish a range of tasks such as cleaning, monitoring, and maintaining the pipe.
